Appearance & body shape: Laterally compressed body (flattened side-to-side), adapted for hunting and navigating rocky crevices.

Habitat in the wild: Rocky shoreline zones of Lake Tanganyika, typically at 1–15 m depths.

Size: Males can reach up to ~15 cm (~6″) total length; females are smaller (~9 cm).

Aquarium setup: Needs a tank with plenty of rocks and hideouts; 200 L or more is recommended.
